I am mixing two of my favorite prints right now, aztec and leopard. I’m often asked how do I know when it’s okay to mix prints. I usually follow these rules:
- As long as you have one color repeated in each pattern – I say go for it. Just try not to have TOO much going on. You don't want to look like a crazy lady or maybe you do. No judgement here!
- I consider leopard to be the new neutral so I wear it with EVERYTHING. (Obviously)
- Pair a small print with a large print. Stripes and floral is one of my favorite combos. It's easy and instantly chic. Plus stripes are a great neutralizer.
- To avoid being overly busy - go for complimenting colors or maybe just wear a patterned accessory like a scarf or shoes with a printed piece.
- And OWN it!
BTW, I picked up this aztec print sweater at Proposals in Little Rock. Mainly known for is bridal wear, this Heights boutique is now carrying everyday wear too and their prices are incredibly reasonable. Check them out here.

I'm not sure about the volume of the top and the sleekness of the bottom. I know I couldn't do it!
