Best & Worst Dressed: Golden Globes 2013

Awards season officially kicked off last night with the 70th annual Golden Globes hosted by my two besties: Amy Poehler and Tina Fey. Love them! Now, it never fails, the very best and worst in fashion and style always makes its debut on these red carpets and last night was no exception.  Here's  LittleRockBigStyle.com's best and worst of the 2013 Golden Globes.

 BEST DRESSED:

Michelle Dockery: This is hands down my favorite look of the night.  I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this Alexandre Vauthier sheer gold brocade and white silk dress. It’s stunning and elegant! I gasped when I saw her! The simple hair, make-up and barely there accessories= Aced it!
Anne Hathaway: Simple and stunning! I loved her in this Chanel creation with the bustier top. What else can I say - she’s just flawless in every way.

Lucy Liu: I know I’m going to get some backlash for this but I really loved Lucy Liu in this strapless floral Carolina Herrera gown. (Pausing for the boos) I know – but it was just such a departure not only for her but for the show itself. She took a risk and I thought it worked! It was fresh, I loved the shape and it had pockets. You know how I feel about dresses with pockets!

Naomi Watts:  This backless burgandy Zac Posen dress is absolutely striking! She was one of the best dressed last night. I loved the dramatic long train, the color and it fit her perfectly. A classic and elegant frock! LOVE!
Kate Hudson: This was also one of my favorite looks from the Golden Globes. I thought Kate looked super sexy and chic in this low-cut back Alexander McQueen dress. The only thing I wish she would’ve done differently is pull her hair back. The high embellished neckline is so gorgeous and should be on full display.

Claire Danes : Claire Danes looked amazeballs in this bright red Versace dress. She did! It’s tailored to perfection and you guys - she JUST had a baby. What the what?! Go on, Claire!

WORST DRESSED:

Jessica Chastain: She wins the best saggy boob dress award of the night. UGH. What’s cray is that this is custom made dress from the Calvin Klein Collection. I mean - did they forget to tighten up her halter? Yes, they did. What a bummer because she is absolutely gorge and this dress would be perfect if it fit!!  I thought the seafoam was a beautiful color but overall she looked like a hot tranny mess.
Jodie Foster:  I’m sorry J, but you look like an extra from Battlestar Gallactica. You know I love everything navy and sequins but this Giorgio Armani dress just didn’t work. The cut of the dress was unflattering and the straps made her shoulders look so broad. Thumbs down.

Halle Berry : Asymmetrical boob alert! I know doing prints on the red carpet can be risky and this dress was a major fail. From the weird cut-outs to that print and the bizarre boob sitch – maj disaster! This is more appropriate for the beach than the red carpet. Sigh.

Ariel Winter: One word: Awful. Listen, I know she’s young and wanted to do something age appropriate but this was too young for her, the fit was just TURRIBLE and she looks frumpy. Maybe a solid color would’ve worked, but this floral neon number is a major miss, sadly.
Sienna Miller: This custom Erdem skirt and top missed the mark. I get the 60’s nod, but this just didn’t work. Sorry, S. This dress doesn't belong on the red carpet. The fit, the colors and the fact that it looked like my 9 year old niece sewed on the flowers = so disappointing. Sienna is usually one of my faves.
Jennifer Lopez: O.M.G. I thought she looked ridiculous in this stripper ice capades inspired Zuhair Murad dress.  Just stop it. Blurg.

What were some of your favorites and not so favorites from last night?
Happy Monday!

  1. Lucy Liu looked like Scarlett O'Hara after she tore down the curtains to make a dress.
