Happy Thursday, friends! Cheers to the almost weekend! Last night we celebrated the 30th birthday of one of my best boos, Jordan Foster with a little dinner at Vieux Carre in Hillcrest. It was the first of many toasts to come in the next couple of weeks because in this group we drag out the celebration as looong as possible.

Hizzy Update: Almost There!!!

 The kitchen cabinets and island are heeeere. (In Pauly D's voice)Walls are painted and the counter tops are currently being constructed. Right now, we're just waiting on the electrician to hook everything up which should be early next week. From there, the hardwoods will be stained, carpet installed downstairs and then we can move in. Elated, you ask? I'm about to burst!!

Chic in the Heat

My two least favorite friends are back: heat and its sidekick, humidity. We’ve already hit the 100 degree and 1000% humidity mark and it’s only the beginning of summer. Oy. This lethal combo can wreak havoc on all things fabulous. So, how does one stay chic in the heat? I have a few go-tos including dresses like this one which I picked up from Little Rock’s newest boutique, E.Leigh's.

Coral and Mint

TGIF!! Whew, I’m glad this week is coming to a close. It’s felt particularly lengthy. I went ahead and got things started early last night with a little girls’ night action at Cantina Laredo. The volume of chips and salsa we consumed is shocking. I’m glad we weren’t cut off. Sooo good!

Anyhoo, this is what I wore, a color combo that just makes me feel pretty. A dress always makes me feel feminine and put together, especially this coral H&M dress I’ve been wearing a lot this season. I paired it with an ivory party cardi for the office, then took it off and put on a little extra gloss for ladies night out. I also love this statement bauble necklace from ModCloth, which is just that, a super fun statement.

This “photo shoot” was cut short by creepin’ rain drops as you can see.

I’m ready to soak up all the goodness of this upcoming weekend! Happy Friday and Happy Weekend to you!!!

Currently Obsessed

I know friends of mine reading this post are yelling: “What is it with Sandra and this obsession with KStew!!” Honestly, I don’t know why I’m so drawn to her!  Maybe it’s because she is kind of quirky and a misfit. ( Not everyone can pull of the chucks look on the red carpet, but I’m going to go ahead and say she can.) Maybe it’s because she’s “endearing, human, possesses a combo of bravado, kindness and self preservation...” as described by the Vanity Fair reporter in this issue. Or maybe it’s because she gets to "make-out" with RPatz, is just plain cool and doesn’t give a crap what others think of her and I wish I could be more like that.

Either way, whatever your thoughts on Kristen Stewart, she is absolutely STUNNING in this latest Vanity Fair spread. Not only do I love this super glammed-up high fashion look she’s donning, but these photos were taken in a city I’m also obsessed with and will be visiting in the spring, Paris. I mean, are you seeing those Givenchy Haute Couture earrings that could be chandis in my new dining room?! Amazeballs. I also love the over-the-top hats and headpieces in these photos.  And that corset and belt by Jean Paul Gaultier – TO DIE! In my dreamworld, I want to style shoots like this and let’s be honest; slip into those Christian Dior dresses and walk around town. Until then, on this planet and not behind bars, I’ll blissfully remain in my fantastic daydream as I continue to flip through these pages. Le sigh…

Watercolor Maxi Moment

Here is my weekend watercolor maxi moment.  Perfect summer date night attire, don’t you think?? After a weekend full of painting and house prep (see previous post), M and I decided to have a little date night and decompress Saturday. Two margaritas, a delish dinner, a possible Bieber sighting and a little quality one on one time later – mission accomplished.

Flam! Fun and glam. Yep, I just made that up. You’re welcome. Flam is what describes how I felt wearing these rockin’ paisley pants and my blingin’ snake bangle. I saw this quote recently: “I’d rather be ridiculous than boring,” by Marilyn Monroe and I have to say, I’m with you there M. This is why my blingin’ bangle and crazy prints will continue to be represented!

Aztec Chic

Happy Wednesday, friends! I don't have much to post today but did want to share my aztec/safari inspired outfit. I got this dress from Ember Boutique last year and absolutely adore the pattern and color. I actually paired this with a navy blazer to make it more work approp, but have also worn it with fun chunky wooden jewelry and a bright belt for a night out. In this post I am wearing a gold J.Crew elephant necklace that I LOVE which provides a little safari vibe. I thought this clash of cultures made for a fun little combo.

Hello Summer!

Hello, friends!! These are a few party pic snapshots from our beach trip to Destin, Floridaaaaa! Hello summer!! A glorious way to officially kick off summer it was indeed. The week was packed with ALL day beach time, sleeping in, clear blue water (most of the time), family bonding, SPF 60+ and indulging in daytime (and nighttime-let's be honest) libation consumption.

This pretty much sums up the trip: beach bummness! Sitting by the surf, feet submerged in silky sand and enjoying the beverage of the day otherwise known as 'beach booze' galvanized discussions about our future home (I'll have a progress report this week), future chirrins, hopes and general enjoying life talk!
