Weekend Wrap-Up

Hello, friends! This weekend was full of much needed down time, catching up on DVR'ed shows and random butt grabbing, Liz Lemon style. That's right; I apparently can't keep my hands to myself.  Friday night, I attended a fundraiser for my niece and nephew's school.  There was a silent auction and with signature drink in tow, I thought I was following my husband while I mingled and checked out the merch. That's when I reached out to give my husband's tush a little pat and squeeze. Well, that tush belonged to someone else's husband. Blurg. I immediately felt my face burn with embarrassment. Sweating, giggles and a dozen apologies ensued. You can't take me anywhere. Thankfully, he was a sport. File this away under most embarrassing/hilarious moments!

Un-Mellow Yellow

These YELLOW jeans from Gap are my FAVORITE! (pretty serious - using shouty caps here) I've worn them a lot lately. Fair warning, be prepared for people at gas stations to yell: "Look at that girl's pants!"
Clearly, they were not my target demo.
Thankfully, I've also gotten a number of compliments around the Rock from people who obviously know good style when they see it. That said, here I paired them with denim and stripes!
I can't wait to bust these out with various other combos very soon! Thoughts?

We were on our way to see Hunger Games and Amy snapped these pics before we walked in. Obvi, she's hilarious because I'm giving the 'not pretty laugh' there, but those are the best.
Happy Friday!!!

OOTD: Just Peachy

I'm the kind of girl who prefers to wear a dress for any and all occasions. What's not to love? Dresses are feminine, super comfortable and incredibly versatile. You can pair them with tights for cooler months, blazers or party cardis for the office and lots of great accessories for a night out or you know, to the grocery store.
This is a peach number I picked up at H&M while in Dallas a couple of weeks ago. I paired it up with this white blazer from Ember and flats for a sensible, yet sweet look.

Forty and Freakin' Fabulous

This weekend we celebrated my fabulous sister-in-law’s birthday. She turned 40! Say what!? I know, right!? How gorge is she – seriously!  We celebrated at her BFF’s house dancing the night away to REO Speedwagon, eating Ding Dong cake (you heard that right – a cake that tastes and looks like a Ding Dong. Why did I not take party pic?) and singing our hearts out to a little MJ.
Leslie and I have a very special relationship which is such a blessing! She's the sister I never had.  Now that M and I bought a house right down the street, not only will there be more patio time bonding, but my wardrobe will expand too.  Speaking of… she wore this ADORABLE grey jumper from Ember Boutique that is to die – and stay tuned because I’m going to have to steal it. L-You’ve been warned.
{Mother-in-law (also amazing), Leslie, Me, Erin (The BFF-love her)}
I didn't get the memo about needing a tan. I'm sporting the vampy look - is that still in?

Let's discuss how freakin' fabulous this outfit is for realz! It also has a cut-out in the back too. Maj.
{Windsor Leggings, ThreadSence Blazer (old), Target Tank, Dillard's Shoes (old)}
I'm still learning how to not look like a ree-ree in blog pics, so bear with me. I will say, I thought these faux leather leggings were pretty rockin'.
Hooray for birthdays! This was a great one.
Happy Wednesday!!!!

Nerd Alert

Nerd Alert! To be honest, I stopped watching Glee a couple of seasons ago, but somehow came across this redo of Smooth Criminal by MJ himself (may he rest in peace) and I immediately loved it! You're welcome.
Happy Tuesday!!!!

Making Memories: Party Rockin'

There’s just something extra special about spending a weekend with your closest friends. Laughing so hard until your stomach muscles hurt, bonding at 3am while eating Wheat Thins and Pringles, singing and dancing in the car to Kesha and the Biebs – it’s just good for the soul. My friends and I took a trip to Dallas to visit our boo-Brian who moved down south a couple of months ago.  It was such a blast!

Here are a few highlights of the trip:
  • Dancing until the wee hours of the morning.
  • Indulging in the best tater tots at Tillman’s Roadhouse!
  • Shopping at North Park Mall for 5 hours.
  • Grabbing breakfast at Whataburger in our pajamas and catching a glimpse of our future as a group of senior citizen ladies walked in with tattoos and really big Texas hair.
  • Watching a guy drink a Red Bull on the street, then put it back in the breast pocket of his blazer as he walked into a restaurant.
  • Eating enough salsa to burn a hole in your esophagus.
  • I may or may not have said Hey girl, hey to everyone I met.
  • Brunch at Villa-O with bottomless Mimosas. Say what?
  • Laughing so loudly that everyone stares at us everywhere we went. (They just want to hang out since we are the coolest – I know.)
  • Belting out to the chorus of We Are Young and having a bachelorette party stop at our table and sing with us! Great moment.

Griffin and I at Tillman's! Yeah, we're sexy and we know it.
Oh, this place - fail. We went to have a drink before dinner and never even made it into the elevator because Brian was wearing shorts. In his defense, they were nice shorts. But we did take fun party pics while he went to get the car. This whole trip really was like an episode of Sister Wives minus the denim skirts and babies.

Candice and Amy!! Look at these beautiful girls!!
Darren and Brian! Our gracious Dallas hosts! I love these hookers.
Look what Darren left in our suite for our arrival! Party snacks!! Legit!!
I just love this party pic.

This was the soundtrack of our trip:
Fun: We Are Young
LMFAO: Sorry For Party Rocking
David Guetta feat. Sia: Titanium
Florence and The Machine: Shake it Out
Skillerix: Bangarang
Britney Spears: Toxic
Lady Gaga: You and I
Beyonce:  Run The World (Girls)
Dev: In The Dark
Justin Bieber: Boyfriend
Kesha: Blow

Pop of Color

Here I am! I’ve finally gotten back into the swing of things after my wreck a couple of weeks ago. It’s amazing what a pain; literally it is to be in an accident. Between dealing with insurance companies and having to find a new car, I’ve certainly indulged in the consumption of copious amounts of wine and chocolate. What? Anyhoo – moving on!

I love a pop of color, especially with this neon pink clutch from F21. This white blazer from Ember Boutique (one of my favorite stores) is also a staple for work and going out! I wore this to a fashion show benefiting Easter Seals of Arkansas, a great event and cause.
Coming up this week on LRBS – my amazeballs weekend trip to Dallas with a few of my favorite peeps! Stay tuned!

Where have I been, you ask? Here: Car Wreck-Headacheville. It happened last Monday after some jack-a wasn't paying attention and rear ended me which resulted in a sore neck, bruised body, totaled car (I know-what the what?) and a bad mood.
Sigh, indeed. Here's to a better week and a few soon to be postings. Until then, RIP loyal and dependable friend. This was the first car I ever bought on my own and I'm sad to see her go.
