Tasty Tuesday: Blueberry Pie

One of my coworkers brought me these delicious plump blueberries from his garden last week, so my mother-in-law and I decided to make a pie! (Alright, she mostly made it and I took pictures. Somebody had to do it.) Yum! I love the sweet and semi-tart taste of blueberries and this recipe just added that little extra to bring out those flavors.
Super easy and mouthwatering good!!
Enjoy!
Heat oven to 425 degrees.
In bowl, toss together blueberries, sugar, flour, lemon juice, orange zest, cinnamon and melted butter.
Line a 9 inch pie plate with one of the crusts. Cut excess if necessary, but I like to keep a little extra to fold and pinch at the end.
Spoon blueberry mixture into pie crust. YUM!
Top with second crust and crinkle edges.
Brush with egg wash and sprinkle with a little sugar.
Cut several slits into top of crust to allow steam to escape.
Place pie plate on baking sheet (to catch drips) and bake at 425 degrees for 10 minutes.
Reduce temperature to 350 degrees and bake 35 to 40 minutes more or until crust is golden brown.
I added a little whip cream and BAM! So good! Enjoy!

You'll need:
4.5 cups fresh blueberries
1/2 cup to 2/3 cup granulated sugar, depending on sweetness of fruit (we used 1/2)
1/2 cup all-purpose flour (or 1/4 cup cornstarch)
1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice
11/2 teaspoons grated orange zest
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
3 tablespoons melted butter
2 packaged pie crusts
1 egg yolk mixed with 1 tablespoon milk
Sugar for dusting
